Reviews are in and...
This obviously goes without saying, "That's My Boy" is horrible.
But a couple reviews say that Milo is surprisingly funny, despite the gross plot twist regarding the character.

“That’s My Boy” is a pretty wretched movie if you want to activate your brain cells, but its busily plotted second half approaches involving. It leads to a big payoff wedding, after all, and it has a large ensemble for support, including Leighton Meester, Will Forte, Vanilla Ice (as himself), a funny James Caan, a cameo by Susan Sarandon and plenty of game-for-the-shame adult players like Peggy Stewart, as a politely naughty grandmother. There’s even one exceptionally good performance, by a committed Milo Ventimiglia as a surprising Marine. - NYTimes
But when Sandler’s willingness to be weird extends about as far as a silly voice, his restraint unintentionally allows someone like Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Todd’s aggressive brother-in-law-to-be, to come in and steal the show. - Collider
It’s not so much the jokes as written but the go-for-broke performances. Vanilla Ice is funny. Milo Ventimiglia, who was not exactly a barrel of laughs in Heroes, is hilarious as Jamie’s super serious soldier brother Chad.

But the truth is, even without pleasant surprises like Vanilla Ice and Ventimiglia, I’m not sure I could ever truly hate a movie that features so much of the adorable Andy Samberg, who acts his little heart out as if this were Shakespeare in the Park. - Time
Thus, the actually funny moments in That’s My Boy are all the more frustrating. Aided by commendable supporting performances from Will Forte (as Todd’s pussyfooted friend) and Milo Ventimiglia (who’s impressive as Jamie’s Marine grunt of a younger brother), the film’s centerpiece, a drunken bachelor party that moves from a quiet men’s spa to Donnie’s favorite strip club, the boobs-and-breakfast spot Bacon & Leggs, is legitimately effective. - Complex
Notably, the standouts in the cast of “That’s My Boy” are not “SNL” vets Sandler, who uses the same “funny voice” for every “character” he plays, or Samberg, who’s stuck in a straight-man role. They are co-stars Milo Ventimiglia as Jamie’s ardent Marine brother Chad, who also likes jazz dancing, and Meester, who displays some surprising comic chops. - Boston Herald
About the only person who makes a positive impression despite the ridiculousness is Milo Ventimiglia as Jamie's brother Chad. He plays a military man with more than a few secrets, and provides some of the film's most genuine laughs. - Pegasus News
There are some funny moments, and it mostly has to do with background scenes such as Jimmy Caan beating the heck out of Andy Samberg. Milo Ventimiglia got some odd notes (no doubt) for his Marine character, but he has a few nice moments, especially with Samberg in the beginning. - Hollywood Chicago
I will admit it: I laughed during much of That's My Boy and felt a rush of warmth and victory when the story wrapped up in its nice, tidy way. Sandler and Samberg are well paired, and there is strong supporting work from Milo Ventimiglia (lookin' goooood in a military uniform), James Caan (as a boxing priest), and Vanilla Ice, of all people. The movie is a mess, a loud and icky splatter of cinema, but that's the intent. - The Atlantic
Despite all the comedy firepower from the leads and his cast of crazies (including regular Sandler actor Nick Swardson), the one who steals the comic thunder is former Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia. His characterization of Chad, the brother of Meester’s Jamie, is legendarily hysterical. - Movie Fanatic
There’s also a nicely insane turn by Milo Ventimiglia as perhaps the least pleasant Marine since Preston Sturges’ “Hail the Conquering Hero.” And I promise that is the first and last time I will ever invoke Sturges while reviewing an Adam Sandler movie. - NJ Star Ledger
There are a few amusing moments lurking in the film's margins; Milo Ventimiglia really sells his role of a twitchy violent Marine, and I do admire Vanilla Ice for his seemingly unlimited supply of gameness. But as a whole, the film is startlingly ugly. - Crave
There are some islands to cling to in the sea of blood, spit, product-placement Budweiser and semen "That's My Boy" sloshes over us. Samberg tries so hard to actually make Todd a character, you almost feel bad for him. James Caan and Milo Ventimiglia hurl themselves into small supporting parts with the kind of brio that shines out even when surrounded by dreck. - MSN Movies
James Caan shows up as a priest who prefers fistfights to prayers, and Heroes’ Milo Ventimiglia is amusing as Todd’s soon-to-be brother-in-law, a jarhead with a violent streak. - Miami Herald
