It seems like a long time but three months will go by in a flash, right? Because that’s when TV’s No. 1 drama and everyone’s favourite show, This Is Us, will be back in our lives with brand-new episodes. That’s right, people, mark Tuesday, September 25 on your calendar because that’s when Season 3 premieres and we are reunited with the Pearson family once again. Sigh, it’s been way too long.
Now that we know the when, how about the why and what? Because we seriously need answers to the plethora of cliffhangers they left us with in the finale.
As we pointed out in March, there are so many questions that need to be answered; what’s going on with Toby? What will become of Kevin and Beth’s cousin, Zoe? And most importantly, who is the mystery person Future Randall and Future Tess are avoiding?? Also, though…poor Miguel.
As for whether or not we’ll still be seeing a lot of Jack, his portrayer Milo Ventimiglia assured fans that we will. Phew! It’ll be set in another time and place, his Vietnam War stint, meaning the actor’s biggest challenge might be trying to convince us he’s in his 20s. Milo is strapping, though, so we’re all for it.
Series creator Dan Fogelman recently revealed that scenes from the series finale have already been shot but hopefully that’s a long way off. While it’s hard to predict what will happen in Season 3, we do know that we’ll definitely be seeing less of William as Ron Cephas Jones was dropped to recurring after joining Apple’s upcoming series Are You Sleeping.
There will also be more flash-forwards, since that experiment in time worked. And don’t get us started on the death rumours, mainly involving both Beth and Randall, because we’re going to pretend we didn’t hear them. As for stories, hopefully we learn more of how Rebecca and Miguel went from friends to lovers because we need to know!
Now, whether or not we’ll get what we want in Season 3 remains to be seen. Guess we’ll have to tune in to find out. Pfft, like we weren’t going to.
This Is Us returns Tuesday, Sept. 25 on CTV.
